Every New and Returning TV Show We're Excited for in 2020

The sheer number of scripted television shows being produced each year — a whopping 532 series aired across all networks, cable, and streaming services in 2019 — is staggering, and that doesn't even factor in the zillions of reality shows perpetually pumping out episodes. But while the percentage of quality shows has fallen over the past decade as a result, there's never been more to love or a wider variety of programming to watch. We're into it.

What notable new and returning shows are on tap for 2020? Just bookmark this curated list of the most promising new TV series and returning favorites coming to a small screen near you, and you'll always be in the know.

The House of Ho
HBO Max, July 16
The Kardashians and the Vanderpumps don't have to be the only reigning reality TV families. HBO Max is getting into the mix of reality TV with The House of Ho, a series that focuses on the wealthy Vietnamese-American Ho family based in Texas. -- SB

Killer Camp

The CW, July 16
By now, dating reality shows are getting pretty old -- which is why The CW is switching it up with this British show that murders contestants one by one each week. They don't actually die, but Killer Camp is an homage to '80s slasher classics, placing a group of people at a woodsy camp where one of them is actually "a killer" offing other campers as they try to solve the whodunnit. -- SB

30 Rock Upfront Special

NBC, July 16
NBC's new streaming service Peacock is basically one big 30 Rock sketch, as is this one-off special from the beloved sitcom. The cast is back together for this home-recorded reunion, similar to what Parks and Recreation did earlier this year, but the new episode is more so an advertisement for what's happening at NBC than anything else. Sounds like one big ploy from Jack Donaghy. -- SB

Absentia

 Amazon Prime, July 17
Absentia is going international. In the third season of this thriller, special agent Emily Byrne is on a case that has close ties to her family and takes her overseas. -- SB
